Obituary of Robert L. Moeller
Robert L. Moeller, age 73, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Shorewood on April 27, 2024. Robert was born in Joliet, IL, on April 10, 1951, in Joliet, the son of the late Harry and Charlotte (nee Cleary) Moeller. He was a proud Vietnam veteran of the United States Marine Corp.
Robert worked for Citgo Refinery in Lemont for over 40 years. Following his retirement, he enjoyed vacationing with his late wife Julie, relaxing in his garage while watching the White Sox, teaching his grandkids magic tricks, and stumping everyone with his riddles. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandpa, and brother. Robert loved talking history with his grandkids and was especially proud when he taught them some of his famous magic tricks. He could always be found with his Rubix cube in hand, and loved to show people just how quickly he could solve it. Robert will be remembered for his kindness, love of family, and blunt sense of humor. Robert truly exemplified the qualities of a great man.
Robert leaves behind his daughters, Samantha (Marzell) Richardson and Nicole ( Mark) Jenkins; son, Robert (Hayley) Moeller; grandchildren, Laila, Marzell, and Maxwell Richardson; sisters, Cindy Mckeand, Kathy Moeller, and Joyce Moeller. Also mourning his loss are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 40 years, Julia.
