I’m early January 1973 Robert and I hired in to UNOCAL Chemical Division as PHD’s (plant helper drivers) plant just starting up with one calcine kiln
Bob was single living like a young single man.
Bob Married Julie and he settled down.
A lot of memories over his 40 year career.
The plant changed names 5 times, grew from one calcine kiln, two calciners, three boilers and a UNOCAL 50 million dollar experimental Preheater that was the first of its kind.
Bob and several others were instrumental in getting the preheater to run at 100%.
Bob would come in and the P/H was upset and most of the time Bob had the P/H purring like a kitten before he left.
When Robert retired he left a void that was hard to fill.
