Dolores Marie "Dolly" Bolte

Dolly Bolte of Scottsdale, Arizona and formerly Joliet, Illinois, passed peacefully, Thursday morning, April 18, 2024 in Scottsdale at Honor Health Medical Center at Thompson Peak.

Dolly, the daughter of the late Rose Marie (Skoff) and Joseph Horvatin was born in Joliet where she was raised and educated.

She is the beloved wife of nearly 70 years to John W. "Jack" Bolte who has been enamored by her beauty, heart and faith since the day they met. Loving mother of John J. "Sam" Bolte and Debbie Bolte Andrews; adoring grandmother of Travis (Ally) Andrews and Brandon Bolte; proud great-grandmother of Kinslee and Rylee. Her cherished brother, Raymond Horvatin as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Joe and Robert Horvatin.

Dolly was employed for many years as an underwriter in the insurance industry.

She and Jack felt fortunate for their long fulfilling marriage. They raised their family in Joliet and after retirement thoroughly enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and abroad, always finding adventure and great conversation while making friends along the way.

Dolly will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her easy going nature which endeared her to so many, her beautiful smile and her devotion to family and friends who she always kept in her prayers.  

Visitation for Dolly will be Friday April 26, 2024 from 3 - 7 p.m at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.) Joliet.  Funeral services Saturday April 27, 2024 at the funeral home with prayers beginning at 12 Noon with her Mass of Christian Burial following at St. Joseph Catholic Church 416 N. Chicago St., Joliet at 1:00 p.m.  Interment St. Joseph Cemetery.
